The “ankle cuff” is is is one of the least photographed yet most character reveling personal details. These portraits were photographed with a scientific Polaroid camera which has no viewfinder. The camera features a magnifying close-focus lens. The Polaroids are small (about 3×4 inches) while the content is larger than life size. Most of these images are captured in one try.
